South Jersey Information Service

SJIS closed on Sep 21, 2018: At a South Jersey Information Service (SJIS) Special Meeting of its Information Service Representatives (ISRs) on Aug 25, 2018, in Moorestown, NJ, the ISRs voted to approve the Board's recommendation to close SJIS. SJIS officially closed on Sep 21, 2018.

Prior to Sep 21, 2018, South Jersey Information Service (SJIS) had been a registered Area Information Service and Literature Distribution Center of Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters Inc.  It provided information and literature to the public and over 100 Al-Anon/Alateen groups that met weekly in its area (south of Route 195 and Mercer County).

It was a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization.

The office had been located in Haddon Heights, N.J.

SJIS was supported by members’ voluntary contributions and the sale of Al-Anon/Alateen Conference Approved Literature.  It accepted no outside contributions.

SJIS was not allied with any sect, denomination, political entity, organization, or institution: did not engage in any controversy; neither endorsed nor opposed any cause.  There were no dues for membership.

SJIS’s only purpose was to help friends and families of alcoholics.
